Illusionary Techniques | Genjutsu 幻術
The shinobi art of deception by means of assaulting the cerebral nervous system to alter the flow of energy in the brain, causing a myriad of effects controlled by the user that include, but are not limited to: hallucinations, manipulation, pain, and psychosis. Genjutsu most often involve some kind of trigger and can be more deadly based on the user's Intelligence, or more easily broken based on the target's Perception. More information on those Stats and their relevance to Genjutsu can be found here. Breaking a Genjutsu often occurs with a standard Genjutsu Kai or similar Technique, as well as pain or a Kai performed by someone touching the one affected; the method of breaking, as well as the trigger, often varies by each individual Genjutsu. As one of the three basic Ninja Arts, all shinobi are capable of performing D-Rank and lower Genjutsu.
Unlock: Access to higher ranked techniques and customs within this skill type.
Free: Everyone can use this skill for free up to D-Rank.
Sensory Techniques | Kanchijutsu 感知 One of the more utility-based Skills, Sensory attunes ones senses to the presence of chakra throughout the world around them. Many are incapable of this feat, while some actively seek to learn it for its incredible usefulness. A sixth sense can afford sight where none could be had, in areas of low to no visibility and even through villages and the like. Knowing this Skill grants access to the Sensing Technique, the foundation for all sensors. The power of a sensor is largely determined by their Perception, which is the attunement to all of their senses, as well as the world around them. Some sensors have even found or developed unique techniques that further extend their range to levels that rival even the Byakugan, while a rare few are so adept that such a level is natural to them. Chakra levels, locations, intent, and chakra nature can all be detected from a distance.
Ninja Techniques | Ninjutsu 忍術
The most famous and practical of the Ninja Arts, Ninjutsu is founded upon the principles brought about by the Sage of the Six Paths and focuses upon the use of Chakra to accomplish a variety of tasks. As the most prominent of the three main Ninja Arts, Ninjutsu is widely practiced among the shinobi and as such comes more easily than other fields, allowing any shinobi to learn up to C-Rank without the Skill, while having the actual Skill represents time and dedication invested into this, beyond the already hefty amount of training that any academy student would devote, granting access to all ranks. Investing in Ninjutsu allows the character to choose one element or non-element they have an affinity towards which applies a one rank reduction in cost for those technique. This does not stack with UAs or enchantments.
- Stats:
Baseline Stat for D-Class (1650/1650) | Current Stats (3285)
Strength: D
Constitution: B
Stamina: C
Speed: D
Coordination: B
Intelligence: B
Perception: C
Remaining Experience: 1075 (4/4/20)
- Unique Abilities:
Genjutsu Specialist: Genjutsu is one rank harder to notice, but costs 50% more to cast.
Illusory Sniper: Can cast Genjutsu on those perceived by the Sensory Skill as if the user had LoS eye contact. But Irui takes 1 Tier more damage than normal. Can't be used on those using Chakra Suppression, or skills that render a user invisible to the Sensory Skill. 10 CP to activate.
Embrace Yin: Irui is able to ignore any aesthetic clues built into canon Genjutsu, bending the technique to his own unique tastes and making it his own (e.g substituting fog for leaves). Irui must still follow the core function of the technique, including all costs, and drawbacks. Attach a +1 CP to Genjutsu if used.Learning Class Advantage: Irui may have access to learning techniques one rank above of what their class allows. This early access must result in stunted growth forcing the player to spend an additional 10% experience to advance into the next class. This *can* be stacked with other modifiers (Sensei, Intelligence, etc..)
For example, a D-class Genin may only learn up to C-rank technique. This UA will allow that same Genin to learn up to B-rank technique. However, in order to hit C-class they must invest 1650 experience into their total instead of 1500 (10% of 1500 is 150. 1500 + 150 = 1650...)
Fast Hands: The player takes a reduction of -1 Tier Speed, for a +1 Tier buff to Coordination. 5 CP to activate
Strong Willed: User gains a +1 Tier buff to Intelligence, but gains a -1 debuff to Perc. 5 CP to activate.
Draining Touch: Irui's blood line that allows the absorption of chakra, is heightened to drain chakra from a single touch. This UA allows him to app techniques that can drain chakra, although those techniques leave him more open to receiving damage from chakra as well.
Without using techniques, he can choose to drain 5 chakra from someone by making physical contact with a them using his forearms or hands, although he has to consciously do so. This is able to be used through gloves and clothes, but does not extend to other tools or weapons.
Every time contact is made, he can draw out chakra from a person (capped at 15 per person per post) or 15 chakra per person if he sustains contact the entire post. However, doing so opens Iriu up to increased damage (+1 rank of damage) from tangible chakra techniques for the rest of the post round. This is all elemental jutsu, and all attacks with tangible chakra, such as Chakra Flow and other such techniques. The amount that this UA allows for non technique absorption in a thread is capped at half Irui's base stamina cap, even if taken from multiple different people. This can not set him over his maximum pool of chakra

House Mikiri
Irui was born into the Mikiri Clan, however his parent's divorced shortly after his birth. As a result, irui has never really known his father. He believes his father failed the Mikiri Clan's commandments, and was essentially ostracized for failing to protect the Mark. Raised by his mother, Soma, he was raised to follow Clan tradition as closely as possible.
Soma, who married into the Clan, knew that her position within the clan was immediately threatened with the departure of her husband, became a strict, but very caring mother. Despite her best efforts, Irui only became more and more rebellious with age. Irui was never a child who wanted to sit still, and follow directions, often lost in his own daydreams and imagination. Raising a hyperactive child on her own was hard enough, but doing it within the confines of the Mikiri was even harder. Often she'd considered leaving the protection of the clan, but knew its connections and support were too great to pass up. As a compromise she allowed Irui to roam the Hidden Cloud--
The Church
With Mora indulging Irui's desires, he stepped into the fold of the Orthodox Church of Jashin. Where Irui desired to exert control and power, Mora gave it to him -- allowing him to experiment with Genjutsu on their political prisoners. She also brought him into the Church to commune with Lord Jashin, in the original altar below the Church's main structure. Here Irui's Yin Release reached out to the darkness itself, and called forth a formidable spirit a Baku. The Baku, claiming to have consumed the dreams of great beings, offered to strike up a partnership with Irui; whenever called upon he would consume the dreams, nightmares and aspirations of his enemies. Irui promised the spirit freedom to indulge itself on the people of the Hidden Cloud, if it meant getting everything he desired. The Baku, clearly intrigued, agreed to the boys promise.
Adventure
Irui has always been reluctant, even dreadful of the Chuunin Exams. He saw them as a yearly, broadcasted form of carnal entertainment for the masses. He knew at some point in his life he would have to pass them, or try to bypass the exams. However, this year would be different. At the beckoning of the Orthodox Church of Jashin, and Mora's spurning, Irui reluctantly entered the Chuunin Exams. He set off for the docks in the Southwestern Land of Lightning well before the Mikiri Clan had awoken-- breaking their rules.

Personality:
Irui has spent the majority of his life following the rules of the Mikiri Clan, dutifully following its teachings to protect the Mark. As a young child, he longed to see the world beyond the Land of Lightning, dreaming of far off places. He spent time near the Gates, listening to the stories of travellers from far off, exotic countries. Irui would live vicariously through them, delving into stories and art to entertain his imagination. When Irui was selected to become a Genin in the Academy, he begins to learn the true nature of the Mikiri Clan. However he has proven to be impatient, self-entitled to the Clan's knowledge, and perhaps too hungry for the clan.
Aloof on the surface, appears cheery, pleasant, overly kind and agreeable, even comical. He is noted to be a very self-reflective, inward thinking individual. As a child his mother described him as hyperactive, almost annoyingly so, and allowed his rebellious streak to go unchecked. However this lead to Irui feeling directionless, in life, constantly told to protect something he didn't understand-- a Mark on his hand. Always searching for guidance, or someone to point him in the right direction, he began to rebel against the Clan on his own. Irui became a prankster, using his latent ability with Genjutsu to trick others into playing "ding dong ditch" on St. Memori's Cathedral, stealing/hiding items, and circulating through the Hidden Cloud, conversing with Travelers (Something strictly forbidden by the Mikiri). It wasn't until Irui awoke to a secretive Clan gathering, that he encountered his Guide.
Mora Mikiri, long outcast from the Clan for her involvement with the Orthodox Church, had come to the Clan's district, honoring a decades old agreement. Irui desired freedom, to see the world beyond the Hidden Cloud, and to understand his bloodline. Mora Mikiri took him under her wing, promising him all of that and more. She promised to bring him into the fold of the Church, to a religious sect that would value his talents, and for him to experience the "miracles" of Lord Jashin. It would be Mora Mikiri wo would finally give Irui the acknowledgement and recognition he so desperately craved, Mora who indulged his hunger and darkest curiosities, and it would be Mora who's voice would saturate his thoughts.
With Mora Mikiri's influence, Irui became increasingly overconfident, viewing his natural talent in Genjutsu as his edge in the Shinobi World. With it, comes a burgeoning arrogance, and self-entitlement. Irui is shown to be increasingly impatient, wanting to progress further and further, yet is dismayed at his own capabilities. This has only resulted in Irui exercising nothing less than brute force tactics, savagely attacking when backed into a corner. In his fight with Tsuki Tatsuda, he realizes that "Fear is the Equalizer"and forces the Kunoichi to see horrible, violent images. This is observed again, in "Drug Lord Assassination", when Irui subjects a civilian to the Hell Viewing Technique, electrocutes another, even using the Substitution on a dying man to take the fall for him. In this scene, Irui thoroughly enjoys his results, and takes a moment to relish in Lightning Style.
During the Chuunin Exams, Irui once again puts on the mask of an aloof, gullible and all-too-innocent teenager. This mask has proven to be Irui's facade, with his act allowing him to bypass the Gate's due to his "mom forgot to give [him] money", and again bumble through the first exam. During the Field Exam, he is partnered with Tsuki Tatsuda and the two proceeded logically into the rainforested arena. Here he demonstrates an analytical talent by sensing their opponents, and is cautious about the next steps. Unfortunately, it is Tsuki Tatsuda who endures the opening onslaught Miraculously he survives the attack from the Second Exam
