The Wind Demon [Mission]

The stuffed scroll within the armor of the Otsutsuki. The black and gold embroidered armor was discreet, however the mission would probably be the complete opposite. Darkseid had been contracted to take care of a dangerous mission in the shady sector of the Kabukicho region. The area was always covered in underground crime. The Kumogakure government had grown tired of the antics and provoking from the gangs.

He had would have an adept partner at his side for this mission. Currently he was waiting for the Jounin Niko Kanuchi. It was be his first meeting with the Jounin. Seid was now more suited for an assassination type mission. Niko was basically unrenowned but had great resume. She would be great for this. While he waited, he eyed his surroundings. He was on top of the roof overlooking the sector. It was a good distance away and a place for them to spy.

Niko was one of the more stealthy individuals you could ever come across, but it wasn't something she flaunted commonly. Being highly proficient with the Sensory side of the spectrum and constantly practicing it, she could easily erase her signature and completely hide her Chakra, making it almost impossible for other people to detect or track her in combination with the natural skills of stealth she had learned like foot placement and such. She was wearing her normal battle uniform, not feeling proficient enough to make herself armor she would feel proud of, so she hadn't brought any. One day she would have it, just not today.

Slipping behind her partner for this mission, Seid, she ensured he heard her coming with a slight shift in foot placement, and then settled into a good hiding position next to him. They wouldn't need to verbally communicate at the moment. Even if they had never worked together, they were Jounin of the Kumogakure, and would be able to compensate for each other without much needed prior training with one another.

Settling in, she closed her eyes, reaching out with her Sensory to see if she could detect anything amiss.

It didn't take long for the stealthy ninja Niko to make her appearance. At the moment, they were pretty well manned for the mission. Much different than his usual missions. Like the time he was sent to capture Ken the Walking Death. A rollercoaster of a mission.

"Greetings Niko. Good that you accompanied me on this mission. Your skills will be undoubtedly useful. I've been overlooking then sector. There seems to be a lot of activity, but I sense something amiss. Like this is for show. They must know the police is keeping an eye on the place. " After hearing her reply, he would bring up afterwards, "Well then, are you ready to patrol the streets? "

Niko nodded as he commented that something was amiss, because according to her detection, it most certainly was. Rapidly, a plan began to form in her mind as she prepared for what was likely to come based on the chakra signatures she was detecting. Her brilliant emerald eyes opened and she looked towards her partner for the mission, a very strong ninja named Seid. She was curious about the man, who he was, his motives for being a ninja, and much more, but this wasn't the time or place for such a conversation to take place. Maybe once the mission was over and they had the guy in custody, dead or alive. Niko wasn't so naïve to think that it was always the best option to leave a target alive.

"I'm going to assume you can't suppress your chakra." It wasn't something said mean, just based on the information she had on the man, and factual. "They have an ambush set up, as well as one person with Sensory, but not on my level. I have a plan. You and a shadow clone of mine will approach, you trigger the ambush and get all eyes on you as they lay out the terms for your surrender. Surprise them by stabbing my clone and make them stutter. I'll take out the extras, you handle the big guy for a round and then I'll jump in and join you. Together we will take him down. Thoughts?"

She wasn't so controlling as to not count in his opinion, but she had an idea they could build off of. Hopefully he would be able to see any holes in the plan.

Darkseid listened intently to the Jounin as she gave her. Unlike her though, she displayed her excellent sensory skills by outlying the entire area. Apparently she picked up on an ambush some ways away. Seid would nod as he listened. Then he would answer, "Perhaps we should avoid the ambush outrightly. To better survey who's organizing them this way." As Seid gave his own suggestion, another figure would pop up in Niko's sensory range. The figure would start out distant. But the speed would pick up dramatically and was heading straight towards them.

The ANBU would be continuing on, "Its odd that they would be aware of our presence. Perhaps someone has tipped them off that we might be arriving." Seid would notice later that another figuring was beelining towards them. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop. The illusive missing ninja they had no idea was in Kumogakure. Yuan Ji.

Niko nodded at his logic, and then suddenly closed her eyes for a moment. "Damn." She quickly got to her feet, knowing they only had a few seconds before this guy was upon them. "He's coming straight for us. Probably can sense you. I'm going to hide and hit him when his guard is down. You make sure I get that chance." With that said, she leaped backwards and into some foliage, all but completely vanishing as she masked her presence. She was going to have to watch carefully to avoid getting hit as collateral damage, but to be honest, as strong as Seid felt to her senses, she doubted he would have trouble at least making him drop his guard for a second or stunning him.

That was when she would strike.

Until then, she would constantly have to shift positions and move around while remaining absolutely undetected. She wasn't sure how he had found them, but this was actually working in their favor. He had to leave the ambush location entirely, meaning no one else would be able to interfere. Even if backup was working their way towards them now, she would pick them off before they arrived one by one. Pulling a pair of Senbon she often used when dealing with these kinds of stealthy tactics from her hair, made of high quality steel instead of the lackluster Iron that was so common, she moved into a good position to watch and wait, while also cutting off those reinforcements.

It took a little longer to maneuver simply to ensure that she remained undetected, but it would be worth it in the end.

The alarmed look on his comrades face told him something had turned up unexpectedly. Seid looked around and squinted, looking behind Niko. She didn't elaborate but she quickly said, "Damn. Hes coming." Whomever he was it seemed the bring some caution to the kunoichi. She said she would hide while Seid was to be confronted. Apparently her Sensory radar picked up an individual heading towards their location.

He was quick on the uptake and was able to understand what she meant. "Keep close if necessary." Seid was interested in whom was coming to meet them. And how he spotted them so quickly. Apparently they had eyes reaching past this sector.

Niko flipped backwards and disappeared. And sure enough with speed that was noteworthy to say the least. A figure appeared in front of Darkseid. A tall slender man with short black hair. He was garbed with a outfit reminiscent of the ninja of old. Black armor around his chest to his legs. A tanto was on his back as well. This piut Seid on edge already.

"Darkseid is it?" The man said, glaring at him with cold barren eyes.

"Who's asking?" Seid answered shifting his position. The air immediately turned heavy, this man was no ordinary man. Seeing as he met them on top of the roofs. What did he want?"

"Perhaps you've heard of me. I am the Demon of the Wind. Yuan Jin." Yuan peered directly into Seids eyes as he knew he would know his name. A dangerous Missing Ninja that had alluded the police and military in many villages. He he had established himself in Kumogakure was a mystery.

"I do know who you are. Its rather unfortunate you ran into me today. Wind Demon." Seids eyes flashes as the Rinnegan single wheel swirled in both his eyes. Though he may have been known, there was none that ever survived that saw his true powers. He would be in for a rude awakening. "Now that I know who you are. I'm going to have to place you under arrest."

"I don't think so officer. Came to deliver a message to Kumo. With your defeat that is." He stood apart from Seid about twenty meters. There was no telling what he had planned.

Niko had managed a nod to indicate she had heard Seid before she had vanished, pushing herself into the foliage and erasing her presence. The first alarming thing was the fact that the man knew who Seid was, even to know the nickname he had earned over time. That meant that he was well informed, and had enough resources to recognize the man based on just what he looked like alone. This also meant that he had known that it would be Ninja’s from Kumo, based on his words, that would be coming to this area, and he felt confident enough in his own power and skill to defy them outright.

Niko slipped through the foilage quietly, but immediately knew that she needed to handle something else for now; there were four more people coming through the woods in their direction, likely the backup for Yuan Jin. Niko was a wraith, waiting for the right opportunity before driving a single Senbon into the last one’s spine, puncturing it at the base of his skull and through to his throat. The bleeding from the wound wouldn’t easily be found under the man’s hair, and in the matter of minutes the man’s lungs would fill up with his own blood and he would be dead. It was regrettable that she had to resort to a lethal measure with such weak enemies, but she couldn’t afford to knock them out only to have them wake up when the real fighting began. She repeated this process like a red-haired wraith through the trees until they were all downed and hidden, their death imminent.

Moving back to where the fight was about to begin, she moved into position where she was to the side of both fighters, where she could intervene if Seid got into trouble, or take our Yuan Jin if Seid forced him into a position where he had an opening. She also watched Seid’s body language carefully; he could easily send her a signal silently, and she needed to watch for it.

"How unwise. To challenge a Kumogakure Jounin in broad daylight. I will show you how foolish you are." there was a trap laid out for them. It was how they came to know the Jounin would be arriving. This troubled Seid as this may be a leak in information as he believed there was no traitor among them. At the moment he had more pressing matters. Niko was taking care of the ambush squad set up for them. He had the job of fending off the Wind Demon.

"Prepare yourself boy!" Yuan Ji dashed forward at an even speed. Keeping himself into a zig-zag formation. Seids eyes were more than able to keep up with him, but he was no Taijutsu specialist. But he was also a bane to them as well. Yuan got within 5 meters of the Otsu when he activated his Deva path powers. An invisible force pulled the Wind Demon off his feet and he came flying towards Seid. Hands restricted backwards it he was caught off guard completely, the ANBU would take advantage.

He drew his super-vibrato sword and dashed forward as well. He swept past the Yuan while swinging with both hands, slashing the man in his chest. He went sailing past him and crashing into the ground rolling away about 10 meters away. He would be injured but still alive, and more careful as he clutched his chest. He was wearing armor so it stopped a bit of the blade but still cut enough to draw blood. He would need Niko to take him.

Niko waited and watched, absolutely amazed by the abilities displayed by her partner. She had no idea what that particular bloodline was that he was using, but the applications of it, what it was capable of... that was amazing just thinking about it. It was odd that his weapon, another thing that drew her eyes for a moment because of her deep appreciation of the equipment they all used as a side-effect of being a craftsman herself, didn't cut the man in half. Perhaps he was just stronger than he appeared, or maybe even there was more going on than met the eye. It was also possible she was simply overthinking it, and his armor that was now shredded was simply tougher than she had realized. Regardless, when he finally landed, and came to a stop, focusing on Seid and clutching his chest, Niko knew that this was her chance to ensure he wouldn't be getting away.

Perfectly concealed, she reared back with one of her steel senbon, focusing carefully as she did as she aimed at her target. Throwing it with expert speed and precision, she knew it was flying true, aimed perfectly for the man's Achilles Tendon. Even injuring the vital muscle and sinew there would be enough to make the man limp badly, but an actual puncture piercing into or through the area would make that leg completely incapable of supporting the man's weight. Niko, knowing that her Senbon was flying true, was already on the move, silently stalking through the trees to flank him from a different direction, but not quite approaching just yet. She needed to see if her Senbon would indeed disable him, and if so, Seid would have absolutely no problem either finishing him off, or taking him into custody.

Niko was on cue for the next phase of the attack. Surely this double-sided attack would catch the missing ninja off guard. Not necessarily how they had anticipated. Yuan was hyper aware of his situation now. Though he could not react in time, a senbon flew and sunk into his right ankle. Which should slow him down. At least thats what Seid had thought. The senbon did fly into his skin and he got up unperturbed. Now it was Seids turn to be surprised.

There was more to this ninja than meets the eyes. He had hardened his body against physical attacks, such is the Body of the Bear. Yuan was now aware of Niko's position. He had to create a distraction and space from Seid and Niko in order to remove the senbon quickly. Though he was on top of the building with Seid, he could now keep an eye on the trees from where it had come from. Sensing an ambush already, the man quickly made handseals.

Which prompted Seid to make handseals of his own. Yuan could be heard bellowing, "Vacuum Great Sphere!" Niko must've been maybe 30 meters out if she was still in the trees around the roofs. He aimed a sweeping attack that would threaten to envelop both Darkseid and Niko. This alarmed Seid as his power needed a few seconds to recharge. He had to hope Niko had a way to protect herself and stop Yuan from raging so much damage in a crowded area.

Seid would do his part and try to annhiliate Yuan with this next technique. There was no element that could stand against it. "Black Lightning: Hydra Dragon Blast!" A large torrent of black lightning spilled out like a stream from the tattoo on Seids neck. Forming itself into a large black dragon, rearing itself in protection of the Otsutsuki. This would be a raging clash.

Yuan: Body of the Bear, Vacuum Great Sphere

Niko was very glad to see that her Senbon had sunk into his ankle. He wouldn't be able to escape this time, not without significant help, and he would also be at a severe disadvantage in any sort of close-range combat. This would give them the edge they needed in order to make sure that he truly regretted having challenged the Jounin of Kumogakure to open combat... but before she could capitalize on her victory, she saw their quarry begin to flash hand-seals, and her Sensory alerted her to the amount of Chakra he was molding, causing the redhead's emerald eyes to widen significantly. She knew that her partner was launching an attack as well, but Niko did not have any hard counters to what was coming her way. Vacuum Great Sphere would hit the people who were standing around watching the fight in the market, not having the good sense to flee. Flashing her own hand-seals, she prepared what she had to do next; evade and switch.

Considering his bloodline and other abilities, particularly the elemental affinities, Seid was capable of countering Yuan's Jutsu where Niko was not. "Switch!!" she roared to her partner, knowing that would be enough for the fellow Jounin to understand what he needed to do next, before committing to a pair of quick Body Flicker's forward and upward, not even waiting for Seid's own attack to clear completely as she pushed forward. Using her Sensory, she locked onto Yuan and didn't give him a second to breathe, attacking him even as the residual energy from the Hydra Dragon Blast kissed her skin and she felt her nerves alight with mild pain.

Niko's Senbon flashed, knicking and cutting as Yuan desperately tried to defend himself, but Niko's speed with her weaponry was beyond what most were capable of keeping up with. So far, the missing-nin was only able to keep her from hitting any vital areas, and she was forcing him backward, keeping him from possibly forming any seals. All she had to do was keep pressuring him this way until Seid finished and could help her, and this was in the bag.

The immense power of the black lightning roared into a gigantic creature from nightmare. Seid willed it to rear its head back and coil with immense speed. Shooting from Seids it curled around the bend, creating a large barrier with its tail. He aimed it to cover the area Yuan aimed at, including his partner. Not on his watch. The blast of wind hit the black lightning dragon head on. There was an explosion of force from the attacks meeting. The Vacuum sphere posed no threat to the dangerous black lightning. There wa no basic element that could stand against its might.

Seid roared as he controlled the dragon to push forward after thwarting the Wind Demons attack. Yuan noticed his plight but he was unable to stop it. Niko's attacks with her senbon were not strong enough to kill him but enough to restrain him from getting away. He yelled as the dragon reared its head back and came crashing from the side of him. The dragon clenched its jaws around Yuan and dragged him into the air. Seid had to jump backwards, jumping on to another roof.

The Hydra Dragon Blast lifted a screaming Yuan all the way into the area till it reached about 100 meters. Thats when Seid activated the blast. There was giant explosion in the area, sending shockwaves that could be felt for over the entire sector. Seid looked into the sky shaking his head in disgust. He mentioned for Niko to come meet him back on the roofs. The threat was handled.

Niko had steadily been pushing him back, using her superior hand-eye coordination to keep up the pressure until Seid was ready to make his move and had handled the situation down below.  Because he was a Kumogakure Jounin, there was absolutely no question in her mind about his ability to help out the civilians down below.  She had asked for a switch, and that had been enough to tell him to do anything he could.  If it was an impossible task for the man, then the civilians down below would be tended to once the threat was over to the best of her ability, and there was a strong chance that many would perish.  Athreos and Erebos would not damn anyone who had died and were innocent, and that was enough to ease her guilt on the matter.  They would do everything they could, and that was enough for anyone.

She noted, using her Sensory, the attack that approached Yuan, and after a particularly vicious stab with her Senbon to send him reeling backward, she slid backward as the massive jaws clamped down on the man.  She could hear him scream as he knew his end was imminent as it ascended into the sky before detonating, ending the threat once in for all as a concussive wave of air sent her red hair flying in the wind like a banner, but she didn't blink, watching until the end to ensure that he hadn't somehow survived that attack.  Once satisfied with it, she nimbly leaped, hopping onto the rooftop to join Seid and took a moment to clean her Senbon before sliding them back into her hair.

"Mission Accomplished with no casualties... that is a victory no matter which way we slice it.  Nice work."  Flashing him a smile, she took a moment to look towards the direction Kumogakure lay.  "Should we head back?  I would like to treat you to a meal, cooked by yours truly if you'd be interested."  The offer on the table, it was up to Seid to accept or refuse, either way, it wouldn't hurt her feelings at all. She was ready to get home.

Niko looked satisfied with their victory. They had not been expecting an ambush of this level. The criminals were getting stronger and this was a lucky experience. Had there been lower ranked ninja, this would have went south. Landing next to him, she spoke on the mission. Saying it was a success and even inviting him over for food made by herself.

He had done this custom before while visiting Shimiko for a barbeque. "This was indeed a victory. It was extremely bold of them to try us in the open like this. No matter. I will request a division deal with this group. I would like to take your offer. The battle has made me quite hungry." Seid was nodded his head in respect. It was appreciated after they had just fought together.

"Let report back and then we can enjoy a meal." Darkseid smiled and gestured for Niko to lead them away. Then they would exit the area.
