Grey Diabolus, The Hero! Empty Grey Diabolus, The Hero!

Post by Copycat Wed Apr 01, 2020 2:13 am

    Name: Grey Diabolus
    Age: 21
    Gender: Male
    Village: Kirigakure no Sato
    Rank: Genin
    Title:
    • The Hero (Self-Proclaimed)

    Clan: Diabolus Clan
Bloodline: Kishin no Fushoku (Stage 1) - 250 EXP Spent
    Element(s): None
    Skill(s):
    • Diabolus Clan
    • Ninjutsu
    • Kenjutsu
    • Skill Trade (+500 EXP)

    Stats - 1,350 Spent
    • Strength: D
    • Constitution: D
    • Stamina: D
    • Speed: D
    • Coordination: D
    • Intelligence: C
    • Perception: D

    Unique Abilities:
Ninjutsu Aficionado: Grey is able to freely use Non-Elemental Ninjutsu techniques without the use of handseals. This hikes up the cost of the technique(s) he uses in this fashion by one rank. This also requires the usual cues for technique casting.
I've Got to Grow: Grey starts with 450 extra EXP. But he's hit a brick wall in development since, so until he builds up another 450 EXP he won't be capable of advancing.
Emotion is Power: Tapping into the negativity latent to his Devil Arm, Grey is able to increase his Strength by a full tier, but loses a full tier of Intelligence so long as this is active. This costs 5 chakra to tap into.

Appearance: Grey stands at around six foot two, weighing just over two hundred pounds. His general stature is intended to be built well, facilitating muscle mass and resilience over maneuverability. His hair reaches down to his neck, generally spikey and naturally falling down the center of his forehead. Numerous tufts of his hair are silvery white at the top of his head, with the lower bit of his hair matching this odd feature of his.

His eyes are a bright, sky blue tintage and are probably his most prominent feature. Sometimes they can be described as welcoming, while other times they can come off as eerie and/or offputting to a degree. His facial structure itself is somewhat defined, though he has work to do for now. Grey has several other oddities in his physique, one of them being the Diabolus mark by his tailbone. The other is by far the most unordinary.

In the place of a normal right arm is his Devil Appendage. The entirety of it is lathered in an unnatural, plating-esque crimson coating. Portions of it reveal glowing, sky blue cracks and lines that run through his forearm, centered at the base of his back palm in a circular shape. His palm and the underbelly, as well as general lower half of his fingers are the same tone and texture, resemblant of nothing more than glowing flesh more than anything. The ends of his digits themselves are sharpened, more resemblant of tendrils than they are nails. Past the point of his forearm, the rest of it is discolored to a lavender tint.

Grey tends to keep his arm covered up, be it by a brace, gauze or anything else he can cover the demonic limb with. As far as general attire goes, he tends to sport white, blue and/or black garments and clothing.

History: Born as the second child of a merchant father and a Diabolus mother, Grey's upbringing went reasonably well. With his mother being a decently-talented kunoichi, he always found himself fascinated by her career and her capabilities. While his father preferred that his son takes after him, he had little qualms with it considering his older sibling took an interest in those things instead. By the age of eight, Grey's fascination had manifested in the form of wanting to be a shinobi.

And so, that's exactly the route he went down. He began to train to the best of his ability, mostly under his mother's tutelage. With her help, he was able to quickly develop, growing talented. While he wasn't among the top in his class as far as grades went, Grey was still impressive in his own right, but it wasn't enough -- for him. He'd frequently find himself training, seeking more from hiimself. But no matter what he did, it always felt like he couldn't get ahead.

None the less, years after enrolling, he'd graduate and go on to become a Genin, still furthering his craft under his mother's tutelage. And by that point, she'd deemed him as 'ready' to take things a step further. There was still one thing she was holding off on teaching him. Unbeknownst to him, it would become the edge that he felt like he was missing. And boy, he'd put it to good use in times to come.

It was then that she, among other members of the clan, had him go through the process of learning how to manifest his Devil Appendage. As someone who had idolized the fabled Seven Swords of the Mist, he always wanted to become a swordsman to be one of them some day. He did eventually get over it but by then he'd already practiced frequently with Kenjutsu, picking it up as one of his specialties in fact.

Thus, when he did finally succeed after day upon day of gruelling efforts to manifest the Kishin no Fushoku, it pursued his dominant arm. Consuming his forearm and replacing it with what it is now, he'd manifested a Devil Arm. He was initially appalled, but his mother told him it was the source of his power, and that improving his use of it would help him. And so he carried on with hopes that would be the case.

Despite that he still struggled to grow, and for years to come it seemed he wasn't reaching the stardom he wanted. Whereas some of his old classmates went on to become Chuunin, he kept feeling held back. And all of that negativity consumed him while he kept trying to do his best to find purpose in himself. Eventually, he'd go on to hold onto the belief that at the very least, if he couldn't help himself, he could help others.

From there on, he started gradually making actual progress. Harnessing his Devil Appendage by the day, Grey's newfound desire assisted him in beginning to catch up with those that he thought would forever be past him, and to keep giving it his best shot to the current day.

Personality: Grey is very often seen wearing a smile on his face, or at least emitting an air of positivity even if he may not be grinning outright. His very disposition is meant to embody a symbol of heroism, positivity and determination. He does this because he wants to inspire others to be the best that they can be. So when he arrives, he does his best to make sure that work ethic and indomnitable willpower arrive with him.

As far as morality goes, he tries to be quite a courteous individual, even to those that he's distasteful of, disagrees with, or even happens to be enemies of. While he does have his own opinions and even doubts at times, he does his best to keep them "tucked below the belt" as he likes to say. He often strives to be the main one in the room keepng things settled, positive and actve, though he struggles with that sometimes.

While he does do all these things, he's by no means perfect and he strives to make it obvious that he's cognizant of that. He strives to make it clear that his imperfections are something he's trying to improve upon, but without lettng them consume him. At the end of the day, Grey would rather be honest and benevolent then just the latter, especially since in the end a facade such as that may not end well.

Even then, he still holds onto one.
