Unless stated otherwise, all topics are considered In Real Time (IRT). All players have a set number of IRT threads. They are almost always a player's most recent threads. Out of a players IRT or Active Threads,  only one is allowed to be a serious thread. This refers to anything of major consequence. Refer to the list below on regarding if your thread is a serious thread. The rest of a player's active threads, can range from NPC missions, training, crafting or simply just socials. For all IRT threads, players can claim EXP per post.

    Qualifications on a Serious Thread
1.) War System: Interacting with war NPC, machinery, ships, etc. This also includes invasions, such as being in locations you shouldn't have access to like invading a base or dwelling.
2.) Hunting: Any topic that involves the hunting rules.
3.) PC Missions: Any mission that is considered PC and not the repeatable NPC missions. If your PC mission includes War or Hunting, it is considered those instead.
4.) Political Interactions: These can be diplomatic negotiations or intimidation threads. To be considered political, a thread must involve a PC who is representing an organization (This can go from Jounin ambassadors, Kage, or misc. organization leaders.)

    Notes on Serious Threads:
    - If a player is in a serious thread, they cannot start another one.
    - If you want to have one kind of serious thread with a player and that player is already in a serious thread of that kind, you must join the existing thread.
    - If a player is in a serious thread and another player starts a serious thread of another kind involving the first, the thread that takes precedence is the one ranked higher in the list of importance.

A player is only allowed to be in Five (5) Active IRT threads. All players can have limitless Flashback threads. Below, you can find a chart to find out how much XP you will get based on the thread. Each post rewards its own value of EXP. The only way to gain additional experience is via mission, or some other outside means.

    Normal Posts5 XP10 XP15 XP5 XP5 XP10 XP
    Training Grounds10 XP15 XP20 XP5 XP10 XP10 XP
Note: The max any player could earn per post, is 50 XP. In the event a player suffers a near death experience, the player gains 50 XP. a near-death experience, which is defined as: "an unusual experience taking place on the brink of death...". These experiences must take place at the hands of another Player Character with the opportunity and means to terminate your character. For whatever reason, he/she decided to spare you, and you have grown because of it.

Flashback Topics are exactly what they sound like, topics which take place at any time in the past. Generally, a character in a flashback is considered to know what they would have at the time; if your character learns a technique IRT and initiates a Flashback Topic that happened before they learned that technique, they will, then, be unable to perform that technique. Additionally, damage sustained by a character in a flashback topic that is not also present in IRT topics must be recovered in some way prior to reaching the IRT point at which the damage was not present. For this reason, death in flashbacks is generally impossible, and if it does occur, will need to be reversed so that the continuity remains intact. Also, if your character learns a technique or gains an ability that they were specifically noted to not have in an IRT topic, there will need to be an explanation for why they were noted to not have it, such as temporary amnesia, etc.

Note: You cannot gain renown at all in a flashback topic

Traveling from section to section varies based on where you are located, and where you want to do. Based on the distance you are trying to move, you must wait for a certain period of time. You must note your destination in your traveling post. Failing to do so, will result in waiting for nothing. If you want to keep your destination a secret, list your destination as secret, and let a member of staff know. This is to prevent you from changing your destination on the fly.

    Waiting Times:
    Half Minor Country: No Wait
    Full Minor Country: 12 Hours
    Half Major Country: 24 Hours
    Full Major Country: 48 Hours

Major Countries are as follows: Wind Country, Fire Country, Earth Country, Water Country, Lightning Country

Please note, that navigating half a minor country several times does not stack time. Trying to circumvent the waiting times can result in an extended wait period, or a travel lock. Please use the correct travel time to move from destination to destination.

You can however, reduce time by making use of your speed stat. However, doing so this way will reduce your Chakra Pool upon arrival.

    Wait Time Reductions
E - Speed: -2 hours off travel time per country
D - Speed: -4 hours off travel time per country
C - Speed: -8 hours off travel time per country
B - Speed: -12 hours off travel time per country
A - Speed: -16 hours off travel time per country
S - Speed: -22 hours off travel time per country

    Cost:
    Full Minor Country: 25 CP
    Half Major Country: 25 CP
    Full Major Country: 50 CP

Traveling has its own correct way to be preformed. When leaving a village you must post in the gates thread to exit and when traveling through countries you technically would have to post in each subforum as you travel towards your destination. To make it easier, instead of posting in each subforum you can merely specify your path in your first travel post (for example, outside the gates) and then you may wait the required time and post directly to your destination. Note that you must post in each subforum OR state your path, failure to do either may result in your travel being voided and your character ruled to have wandered during the whole time.

    Example Path:

    Locations of Gates:
Land of Water -> NE -> Hozuki Isle -> Kirigakure -> Walls
Land of Fire -> Sneju Forest -> Konohagakure -> Walls
Land of Wind -> Sunrise Desert -> Sunagakure -> Walls
Land of Lightning -> SW -> Kumogakure -> Walls
Land of Earth -> TG Chang Mountains -> Iwagakure -> Walls

If you are traveling in a group your companions will follow your travel path without having to reiterate the same path in their post provided they are following yours. They also automatically follow your travel timeline so long as they post within 48 hours of you. If they miss that 48 hour window or they specifically note they are not traveling alongside you then they are traveling at a different time/pace.

REMEMBER: If you are traveling, you CAN continue all of your previous topics, HOWEVER from the point you travel, they will be Flashback threads. Please note this in your posts. Failing to do so may result in a deduction of XP, or complete loss of EXP. You cannot start new topic or join topics in an area you are no longer in.

Roleplay Timeline Guide Empty Re: Roleplay Timeline Guide

A player can intercept, or interrupt a thread. As long as the location of the thread is either in the same area a player is currently in, or is on the way to their destination (if they are traveling). The player is able to interrupt any ongoing thread, or any thread that has ended within the last 48 hours. In this event, unless it was permission to join a social, counts as a Serious Topic.

Hunting a wandering character follows similar rules. The hunting character, or party must first have a LEGITIMATE reason for locating the person. Attempting to metagame will result in scrutiny from staff. You will need some reliable means of tracking, be it sensing, or tracking via smell. Going off of word of mouth from NPCs is up to staff discretion and may not be permitted.

When posting a hunting topic, you will need to include "Hunting: (insert character's name)" in the title. The wandering character will have 48 hours from that topic's most recent post to make a post in that topic, assuming that the topic is in the correct subforum. Failure to post in the hunting topic will leave the wandering character at the hunter's mercy, allowing any actions that the hunting character takes after that point to succeed without question or the possibility to interruption save by another character (not the wandering one).

All players who are either hunting or interrupting a thread MUST have a good and believable reason for joining, be it a call for help via jutsu or tech, or a loud explosion from the fight.

These attention grabbers effectively start the time frame for other characters taking notice of it, deciding how to respond, and then moving towards it, if they so choose. We don't assign specific times to how long this should take, as every instance is different, but use good judgement when deciding what will have happened by the time your character arrives. Obviously, unless your character can teleport, he will not be able to see the explosion a mile away and then arrive immediately after it happens, even if 48 hours haven't passed. For this reason, anything contained in the initial post cannot be interrupted by a character that is in a different topic or is wandering a different subforum. There are some slight exceptions to this when that initial post is extremely long and may cover half an hour or more of IC time, which your character may logically be able to interrupt. In these rare cases, use your judgement, but for the most part, you won't be able to interrupt the initial post. If you have any questions on this, ask a member of staff and we'll tell you what you should be able to interrupt.

As mentioned above, it is expected that a certain amount of time will pass between your character exiting one topic, travelling, and then entering another topic, and while we don't represent that specifically, we do require that there be some consensus between players on what can and can't be done in that amount of time.

Firstly, this applies to Travel. If a topic begins in Kumogakure and your character is in Sunagakure when it starts, you will not be able to travel all the way to Kumogakure, crossing three different countries, and try to jump into that topic. So much time would have passed that the topic would be finished before you even arrived. For this reason, a character is unable to join a topic that started in a different Land before they left. If you departed before it started but haven't yet arrived, that's fine and you can join. If you're in a different subforum when it starts, that's fine as well; just read the interruption rules above.

Secondly, this applies to leaving and rejoining. If your character is in a topic and then leaves that topic to do something else, keep in mind that your character is still on the same timeline. If you were in the training field talking to your friends and leave to take a three hour nap but they keep talking for a while, you won't be able to show back up because it's been three hours for you, but only thirty minutes for them. Normally, this isn't allowed unless there is some kind of time skip in the topic, or 48 hours have passed since the last post, but if all of the players in the topic agree to you rejoining, then it's fine. This may not work for all topics, though, especially in battles and plot-based topics, so be careful.

Please also keep in mind your character's current stats for the thread. If you also happen to be doing a training topic or a mission and buy stats or learn a technique, you cannot use it in your current thread. If you update your stats during a topic, your stats from the beginning of the thread will be your same stats throughout.

Roleplay Timeline Guide Empty Re: Roleplay Timeline Guide

Post by Manji Mon Mar 30, 2020 2:43 pm

Please keep in mind, the following rules are in place to prevent people from taking up too many slots on the forum. These rules are in effect to ensure everyone has a fun and equal chance to get techniques and restricteds. while also freeing up slots. Please also keep in mind that players have the right to keep their items due to IRL issues by informing staff, this however does not grant immunity, but an extension in understanding.

Remaining active IC is important. If you have not made an IC post within three (3) weeks, your character is then considered in a coma and is admitted to the nearest hospital until you are active again. Your Kage reserves the right to demote you at any time during this process. If you are a Jounin, you will be demoted to Chuunin. Any other rank may and can be lost if the Kage sees fit. If you made your character and never made an IC post, you will be removed from the rosters entirely.

If it becomes a routine where you have repeatedly failed activity checks, and hold slots after two failed checks, you will lost 1 rank in your class. Your EXP will be reduced accordingly. If you lose more EXP than you have, you will receive an XP debt. You will lose access to skills of your choice until you have paid this off, be your stats, restricted progression, or bloodline traits. If you lost a restricted, the slot will be reopened, and as a result, you will no longer possess the skill. The circumstances of this loss will be explained by the player, but unless specified it is assumed the plague robbed them of that ability.

    EXAMPLE:
For example, a character at 6,600 Total Experience will drop to 6,000 total experience. If they wake up, they need to subtract 600 Experience from their stats, bloodline, or other holding. The character will continue to drop one class for every failed activity check until they reach E-Class at which point they will remain in the coma until they resume activity. Total Experience accumulated past X-Class will not require any payment when they are dropped down to 8K exp however further class drops will necessitate payment as normal.
Note: Players can avoid being marked inactive by posting their absence, and a reasonable amount of time. Active PCs cannot harvest or interact with an inactive character. All of this MUST be done before they fail the check.

If you are active on another account, and fail the check on one of your other accounts, the failed account is subject to the above. You will also lose the ability to apply for any high ranked slots until you can pass the next activity check on all of your accounts.

If you are in an "Inactivity Coma" a player may pay 100,000 Ryo IC to maintain your state. In this state, you will not lose EXP and your class. This only extends your window by 1 month. This can be done again, with the second time being 500,000 Ryo, and a third being 2,000,000 Ryo. We understand if you want to help out, but we cannot offer a grace to every player if they are holding limited slots. A player must make this decision within 2 weeks after an activity check has passed.

Reminder: Failing a check, will result in not being able to claim a higher rank character, or apply to any clan that has limited slots until they are considered "Active" again. There is no exception outside of this, outside of an extended absence. maximum time allowed for an extension is six (6) months. On average, players will be allowed only a single month of grace period.

A player may choose to store one of their characters. Life happens, and sometimes your time is limited. This option is only available to people who have succeeded more than six (6) activity checks. This only applies to that character who has passed those checks, and not the player themselves. This can be done in the absence section of the forum. You must declare what state of storage you are using.

    Short Term: 1-3 months maximum.

    Long Term: 4-9 Months maximum.

Keep in mind, after 3 months, a Short Term storage is considered inactive. If a character is stored for Long Term, they cannot be taken out of storage until at least 3 months have passed.

Staff also reserve the time to deny a storage, forcing a character to be deemed inactive. This can be done if the character holds multiple slots and positions on the site. A character placed into long-term character storage that has a starting Restricted slot or any other limited starting slot (for example, a clan or higher rank) will forfeit that slot while in storage. This is to allow other players a chance to gain that starting limited slot rather than have it being taken up by a character that is not in active use. If the player wishes to bring that character back with that Restricted slot it must be unoccupied. You cannot store a character that is actively involved in a thread. You must exit all threads before declaring any of your characters in storage.
