    Hello everyone!
I'm here to announce two changes to our systems. The first one is regarding thread numbers and tweaks to our fluid timeline. The rules have been updated, and here are the new thread rules:

Thread Number Rules wrote:Players can have 3 threads and limitless flashbacks.
Out of those 3 threads, 1 of them is serious and the other two can be anything from training to NPC missions or socials.

A player's open "3 threads" threads must all be happening in the same land. Before a player travels, they must close all threads or turn them to flashbacks.
You can claim full experience for threads turned to flashbacks up until the point in which they were turned into flashbacks. After that point, characters in that thread who left the land and turned the thread into a flashback can only claim half experience.
Characters who didn't leave the land and remain on the thread are unaffected and may claim regular experience, as per the 3 IRT threads rule.

The serious thread will be considered top priority and the main timeline of a character. Serious threads include, by list of importance:
1.War System: Interacting with war NPC, machinery, ships, etc. This also includes invasions, such as being in locations you wouldn't have access to like breaking into a base or village.
2.Hunting: Any topic that involves the hunting rules.
3.PC Missions: Any mission that is considered PC and not the repeatable NPC missions. If your PC mission includes War or Hunting, it is considered those instead.
4.Political Interactions: These can be diplomatic negotiations or intimidation threads.Political Interactions: These can be diplomatic negotiations or intimidation threads. To be considered political, a thread must involve a PC who is representing an organization (This can go from Jonin ambassadors, to Kages, to misc organization leaders).
    Clauses:
If a player is in a serious thread, they cannot start another one.
If you want to have one kind of serious thread with a player and that player is already in a serious thread of that kind, you must join the existing thread.
If a player is in a serious thread and another player starts a serious thread of another kind involving the first, the thread that takes precedence is the one ranked higher in the list of importance.

Note: While Flashback threads generally have their experience halved, flashback Sensei Mission threads grant 15 EXP instead of 12.5 EXP. And flashback training ground threads grant 10 EXP instead of 7.5 EXP.  Enjoy~

In addition, Civilians will now be able to craft 1 X-rank item per year, per crafting skill. Basically this means that if you meet the conditions to craft an X-rank item on more than one crafting skill, you can craft one X-rank item correspondent to each skill, per year.

More tweaks to come soon! Stay tuned~

    Hey hey hey,

Today's announcement will include the long waited Poison Buff and the very necessary Hit Call Rule edit. Here's a breakdown of them below:

    Poison Buff

Poison Countdown and Duration values will now reflect what is below

    D-rank:
    Countdown: 1 posts
    Duration: 4 posts

    C-rank:
    Countdown: 1 - 2 posts
    Duration: 4 - 8 posts

    B-rank:
    Countdown: 1 - 2 posts
    Duration: 6 - 10 posts

    A-rank:
    Countdown: 2 - 3 posts
    Duration: 6 - 12 posts

    S-rank:
    Countdown: 2 - 3 posts
    Duration: 10 - 16 posts

Following these new numbers there should be more readily available ways to counteract poison that doesn't require medicine or an Ijutsu user:

Grain Alcohol: Remember seeing that in the shop? It mainly served an RP function of "cleaning wounds to prevent infection." Instead it can be re-purposed for cleaning a wound inflicted with Liquid Poison to remove the poison. However, this must be within the countdown before its spreads to the victim's bloodstream.

Blood Loss: Remember that cool stunt Naruto did to remove the poison from the Demon Brothers? Pepperidge Farm remembers. Now, a substantial wound over the infected site can now remove poison. This must be within the Countdown before the poison takes effect. The wound and damage is up to staff discretion.

Amputation: Remembe- nevermind. I'm sure it's obvious, but it should be made clear that removing a part of your body where poison is inflicted during the countdown phase will prevent the poison from spreading. It's not ideal, but sometimes a loss limb is better.

A-tier Con: Lastly with these new countdowns I feel A-tier Con or higher should double the current countdowns to represent Con's overall resistance to foreign contaminants.

So the tl;dr with poisons are:

-Adds several ways to fight poisons without medicine or Ijutsu
    -Decreases countdown times overall
-Increases the effectiveness. Currently, Poisons need to be +1 rank higher than your opponent's Con to affect them. With this update, your opponent's Con will now need to be +1 tier higher than the poison you're using to be immune.

Poisons may now be edited to reflect these changes immediately. Failure to do so will result in overall weaker poisons in your arsenal.

    Hit Call Rule Edit

    Hit Call Rule Change:

-Conflict Res can be called anytime during a fight
-The caller has to express their case to the defender and tell them why they should edit, resulting in a 48 hr extension for editing purposes per round.
-The caller has to tell the defender to edit at least once, but can be as many times as they desire as long as everyone in the thread consents.
-The defender can compromise/edit, or take it up to staff
-If staff agrees with the caller, the hit goes through. The defender has 48 hours to edit their post taking damage otherwise the attacker gets to connect their hits.
-If staff agrees with the defender, combat resumes as normal

Consistently making bad calls in a fight can result in a penalty deemed by staff. Bad calls are defined by illogical arguments and otherwise abuse of the system.

    So what changed?

Before this edit, your opponent had infinitely many opportunities to edit their post in the event they did something unreasonable in combat. This also forced you, as the attacker, to cooperate with the defender in helping them find the best way to counter your own attack.

Now you will only be required to ask your opponent to edit once after explaining what they did wrong. If you believe they failed to edit properly, the conflict goes to staff. And if you win, damage is dealt instead of your opponent being allowed to edit again to attempt another escape route.

That's it for now. If you have any questions, seek any staff member.

We have decided collectively as staff that retired characters may be returned from retirement! This comes with the following stipulations.
-When bringing back retired chars, if another char has benefited from the 25% exp either that char or the retired char must suffer that exp
-Before putting a char into retirement there must be a 1 OOC month cooldown of low profile activity before retirement
-Bringing back retired chars incurs a renown setback (set back to the previous renown level. Rewards cannot be claimed twice.)

In lieu of this, everyone may bring back 1 character they have retired in the past without penalty.

Additionally, here's a minor anouncement regarding the Chinoike Clan:
-Removed Chinoike Clan's Hachi ES. This may be resubmitted if a member of the Chinoike Clan wishes.
-Increase EXP for Ketsuryūgan. The Ketsuryūgan now costs 1500 EXP rather than 1000 EXP. The blood manipulation has been made a seperate ability, requiring an additional 1000 EXP to unlock.
    -Decrease blood manipulation range to short-mid range (0 - 25 m.)
-Decrease blood manipulation quantity to 0.5 cubic meters for every tier of Stamina starting at E

    Update for 2020

    • Craftsmen can no longer make X-rank items. The only X-rank items existing will be in the form of artifacts.

    • Artifacts cannot be remodeled or modified in any form.

    • Custom ES/Res Techs must be close to the setting. Although we do allow a vast range of creativity the general theme of these abilities should fit the Naruto setting.

    • Technology standards have been set. We allow some degree of modern technology for the sole purpose of social roleplay (such as microwaves, television, and so on) however technology used for mechanical gain is limited to what is seen on the market.

    • Custom technique must be earned via tickets. These tickets can be used to create a custom technique in the technique registry. More information on this can be found HERE.

    • Removed power for projectiles in projectile rules. This means the damage potential for ninja tools will be based off the material and craft of the projectile.

    • Projectiles can only move at A-tier Speeds max, arrows at S-tier Speeds max. Technique must be used to increase the speed of the projectiles and go beyond this gap. Buffing the speed of a projectile will go off the stat buffing rules in terms of rank and cost.

    • Removed the restricted reward as S/X class. A Custom Res Tech may be earned at those classes, however Entities or ES must be earned via plot or event.

    • Added costs to crafting. Crafting armor or weaponry will have a material cost and a production cost depending on the rank of craft. These values can be found under the Quality tab in the Crafting Guidelines HERE.

    • Engineering has been removed as a skill as well as enchanting. Building ideas, room ideas, or requests to add certain items to the marketplace can be requested in the suggestions channel.

    • X-tier stats have been removed from the game. The highest possible stat one can achieve is S++.

    • Custom Clans require a district before being registered. This means if you wish to register a custom clan on the site you must first convince your village to sponsor said project.

    • Added a housing system and updated the living expense system, both which can be found HERE.

Following this list of updates, the site will undergo a soft reset.

What does this mean? This means the setting has been restored to the launch of the site. Territories, political relations, village knowledge of other exclusives, and artifacts are put back in place. Characters may still exist with the same experience they've earned, and they also get to keep whatever restricteds and exclusives they've learned. Stories may also be continued, however, these stories must be between characters and not be stories based upon the previous setting (ie you can't continue a plot based around sacking Iwa due to Iwa's retaliation because Iwa would have never done that due to the reset.)

A larger update as we continue to refine systems and take suggestions:

    - The Genjutsu System has been heavily modified to increase the effectiveness of the skill as a supplementary tool or a primary weapon. A brief description of the changes are bulleted below, however, we highly recommend reading the rules entirely. Canon library Genjutsu will be updated and announced shortly.

    • Cleaned up the language significantly (new images will come shortly)
    • Clarified the difference between Perceptional and Nightmare Genjutsu
    • Increased the time it takes for somebody to realize they're in a Genjutsu per tier
    • Made it so having three tiers or more disparity in Intelligence/Perception makes realizing Genjutsu impossible.
    • Added a Genjutsu Registration given the unique functionality of Genjutsu
    • Added so Sensors cannot detect Nightmare Genjutsu on themselves
    • Removed Perception as an option to recognize Genjutsu
    • General Triggers now render the user immobile
    • Much more (pls read the thread)

    - Projectile Speed AND Bow and arrow Speed are now both limited to A-tier Speed without the aid of a technique.

    - Village Exclusives can only be learned by scroll/cannot be taught by other PCs. This is effective immediately.

    - The standards for Constitution has been greatly increased. This update primarily applies to older members as they are used to another standard of Con vs Power, but the Constitution stat as a whole has been buffed as a result. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out.

    - Custom Technique can now be "upgraded." What this means is a previously created custom technique can be raised in rank (canon example of this being A-rank Chidori to S-rank Raikiri.) Doing this reduces the cost to registering the technique as opposed to registering a completely new technique. The values for upgrading a custom technique are below and have been added to the Jutsu Training Rules.

    Cost to Upgrade Custom Jutsu

    D-rank Technique: 25 EXP
    C-rank Technique: 50 EXP
    B-rank Technique: 100 EXP
    A-rank Technique: 175 EXP
    S-rank Technique: 250 EXP

    - Selecting the Kuchiyose at creation or class up allows you to register TWO free summons. These summon tickets follow the same rules as registering summons. This means your character must be able to summon the creature in order to register it. A D-rank Genin cannot register two S-rank summons.

    - Summons now have ticket values to register. These values are the same as custom technique, and summons can even be upgraded to show development. Keep in mind that unlike custom technique, upgrading a summon will sacrifice the summon's previous registration. This is because you cannot have four versions of the same summon, but at four different ranks.

    - Fuuinjutsu identifying and breaking system edited. To quote:

It will generally take no time at all to decipher and undo a seal with the appropriate unsealing technique if your intelligence is higher than the seal creator, but as that advantage wanes, it may take additional time and effort. Equal Intelligence takes one post and one Tier lower takes two posts. An Intelligence difference of more than one tier is simply too great to overcome, no matter how much time is invested into the seal.

This has been added in the Elements & Skills Information thread.

    - New EXP values have been implemented. No big notable changes are made, except now a +5 modifier is added for every character active in a thread. This is capped at 50 experience per thread. The values are posted below and have been added to the Experience Rules thread:

    - Characters earn 5 Experience Points per post in a solo topic. Experience earned this way is limited to three posts per day. Solo PC missions (a lone ANBU preparing to assassinate a PC Kage for example) are exceptions to this and are not restricted to a post per day.
-Characters earn 10 Experience Points per post in a topic containing multiple players. Going through life with others affords a peak at a different viewpoint in life, enhancing everyone's personal growth and development.
    - Characters earn an additional 5 exp per person in a multiplayer topic beyond the first two to a max of +35. (So with two its the standard 10 and then for each person beyond them the posts become +5 more until it reaches 45 exp per post maximum)
-An additional 5 Experience Points are earned per post when training with, on a mission with, or interacting with the character's designated sensei or student.
-100 Experience Points are earned when a character suffers a near-death experience, which is defined as: "an unusual experience taking place on the brink of death...". These experiences must take place at the hands of another Player Character with the opportunity and means to terminate your character. For whatever reason, he/she decided to spare you, and you have grown because of it.
-All Experience Point earnings are halved when the topic is a Flashback. More info on Flashback Topics can be found here.
-To encourage character progression and participation, Staff may occasionally give additional Experience Points to those that have done a particularly good job roleplaying in any given topic, or as a reward for participating in plot-related topics. If you think you've done something worthy of a bonus, don't hesitate to ask for it in your update.
-While there are a variety of ways one can increase the amount of experience points earned per post there is a cap. No player may ever earn more than 50 experience points per post.

    - Removed weekly +1 adv from Bedchambers and made Bedchambers give the permanent +1 adv instead. The Shrine will now give a +5 EXP bonus for all RPers who are threading in the house. These changes are apart of and founded in the Living Expense system.

    Forgot to add:

    - Classing up grants the character a few free Custom Technique Tickets depending on the class achieved. This has been added to the Experience and Class Information rules. The class level and the tickets received are noted below:

    D -> C | 3 C-rank tickets
    C -> B | 3 B-rank tickets
    B -> A | 2 A-rank tickets
    A -> S | 1 S-rank ticket
    S -> X | 3 S-rank tickets

Tickets can be traded for tickets up to 1 rank lower. So 2 A-rank tickets can be traded for 4 B-rank tickets. Or 1 S-rank ticket can be traded for 2 A-rank tickets. Characters that are transferred or melted do not benefit from previous class-ups, as those characters in most cases have restricteds and technique, including exclusives, gained from their previous life. However, any future class-ups will still give the tickets.

    - The thread limit has been moved from 3 to 5.

    - Added "Treasure Room" as a room for the Housing System

    - Clarified Bedchambers can only be bought once, however, Guest Rooms can be bought indefinitely.

    - Making Market Purchases no longer require your character to post in a market subforum. Purchases can be conducted entirely via update now with no IC post necessary. Despite this change your character must still be somewhere a market exists (such as a base or dwelling) where they can conduct their transaction logically.
