    Appearance:
    Appearance:

Standing at 5'11", Kei has a lean build with a rather wiry frame. The neck-length messy white hair that covers his head can most effectively be described as a 'mop', the natural curve causing his bangs to frequently hang down and cover the left side of his face. The result is a single pale green eye gazing out from a face that has some notably sharp features to it. Though his training has allowed him to gain a decent amount of muscle over the years, his natural build combined with a preference for more baggy clothing tend to hide this fact. His slightly tanned skin is marked by a handful of scars that he's accumulated over the years, the most notable of which being from cuts on the back of his left hand and left shoulder.  As mentioned Kei tends to prefer clothes of a loose fit, most frequently being seen with a long scarf and a poncho style cloak worn over a simple tunic. He tends to avoid anything on the fancy side in favor of the more utilitarian, with the jewelry in sight being a simple pair of silver earrings on his right ear.

    History:

Kei never new his parents, growing up as an orphan under the care of his older brother Masato. For the majority of his childhood the pair lived a rather nomadic lifestyle, traveling from village to village around the outskirts of Fire Country while doing their best to survive. It wasn't an easy life by any stretch of the imagination; when Masato couldn't find work in a town they often had to resort to begging, and when that failed, more questionable means of getting food and money certainly weren't off that table. Kei in particular found that he had a bit of a knack for picking pockets when they started running low on options, allowing the pair to narrowly scrape by in the worst of times. As hard as things got though, the brothers always had each other's back.

And that's more or less how their life worked; travel to a new town, ask around for any odd jobs, beg when needed. When the coin started to dry up, they occasionally had to resort to thievery and con work, skipping town before they drew too much heat on themselves and starting over again. This cycle continued until Kei was about 10 years old, when something rather peculiar happened. In a particular village, one night when Kei was trying to break into a shop to steal some food he got himself caught. Convinced that the person hadn't been able to identify him, he bolted into the night... however when the following day came the old woman who owned the shop approached the brothers with an entire basket full of food.  "We take care of each other out here" She said simply before offering the boys supplies and a place to stay in exchange for helping out at the shop.

Fearing that the woman would actually report them to the authorities if they refused or tried to make a run for it, they accepted the deal.  And seemingly overnight their entire way of life seemed to change. Rather than being ostracized or taken advantage of as they expected, their supposed blackmailer was true to her word. They stayed at the shop until the work was done, but rather than being forced move on afterward they were soon approached with a similar deal from the town's carpenter. Then again from the local fisherman. Then the Apothecary. Before they knew it, the boys had effectively been adopted by the village as a whole, getting to know the residents as they were passed from household to household in exchange for whatever minor chores were thrown their way. For the first time in their lives they were in a stable environment and able to focus on things other than just staying alive, even getting a simple education from the woman who put everything into motion. Things were looking up for the brothers, but this little slice of ideal life wasn't meant to last.

The rumors had been spreading for weeks; bandits from across the boarder that had been roaming the country side. Surely patrols would take care of them before long, why would they even care about a tiny village like this anyway? Easy things to think when living in a place that rarely ever even saw petty crime, but reality is rarely is so kind. When a band of about two dozen outlaws showed up on the village's doorstep demanding everything that wasn't bolted down, the peaceful townspeople had no idea how to react. They rounded everyone up in the center of town and went about looting and destroying whatever they pleased while all the villagers were paralyzed with shock. Well, nearly all of them. Masato alone attempted to stand up to the raiders, doing everything he could in order to defend the people that had finally given him a home. He challenged the leader of the band directly, getting them to agree to leave if he managed to win.

The resulting fight was short lived, if one could even call it a fight. Although it was quickly clear that Masato was actually the better fighter of the two, the bandits apparently felt no need to follow the rules. As soon as the boy seemed to get the upper hand, one of the other bandits jumped in with a cheap shot to cripple him. The next hour or so turned into a horror show, with the old woman from the shop holding Kei back as the bandits tortured his brother before eventually growing bored and ending it for good. No one stepped in to help, all of the kindly villagers that had taken care of them either too physically weak or simply too terrified at the display to do anything.

Eventually help did arrive for the village, with Shinobi dispatched from Konohagakure making short work of the bandits before they were able to finish their looting. The damage had already been done however, with large portions of the settlement in ruins and a handful of the villagers used to 'entertain' the brigands in the time between. Kei never blamed the villagers for what happened that day, knowing full well that he'd been just as weak and defenseless as them. If the old woman hadn't held him back, he would have been killed just as easily. And that is where he put the blame; if he'd been stronger he could have helped, could have made a difference, could have watched his brother's back like he was supposed to. As the shinobi finished mopping up the bandits, Kei approached their leader, begging the man to take him back to Konoha, to train him to fight like they did. Never again would he let his own weakness get in the way, never again would he just stand by and watch.

    Personality:
Although at first glance Kei might seem to be a rather stand-offish individual, this is mostly just an artifact from the time the boy spent living in the streets. He might be a bit on the quiet side but beneath the rough exterior is a more kind and caring personality that was nurtured by the village that supported him and his brother. Almost always cool and calm, the boy's mind is constantly in motion and he rarely goes into a situation without some sort of plan, though he does tend to struggle a bit when forced to improvise on the fly.

After the incident that killed his brother, Kei has begun to take a much more proactive role in trying to change both himself and the world around him. One can't expect an outcome to happen if they don't work towards it after all. As a result he has developed a habit of frequently trying to take on problems by himself, shouldering most if not all of the burden even when such a practice can be self-destructive. Behind everything he is motivated by a deep seated fear created from the helplessness he felt that day; he will do almost anything to avoid ever being put in that situation again, no matter the cost to himself.

You have five skill points spent (Suiton, Kyūjutsu, Chemistry, Sensory, Fuuinjutsu) while D-Rank characters only start with four. Unfortunately one will have to be removed.

Additionally, the "Seal-less Combat - Ninjutsu" UA has to be specified into only one specific element. Non-Elemental is a valid option as well.
