Appearance: Sanzo stands at an even 6' (182 cm) and weighs roughly 160 lbs sporting a fairly lean build, much like many adult male ninja. His skin has some warm undertones given the climate in the Land of Lightning and general outdoor activity, but nothing compromising the natural warm ivory he was born with which compliments his crimson head hair and natural brown eyes.
He prefers to dress for the occasion, wearing casual shoes, pants, or even shorts, as well as a variety of top wear whenever off duty, and the standard issued uniform and flak jacket when on duty, to name his two most common forms of dress. Over both feet Sanzo wears a pair of black sandals where he tends to wrap the ends of his pants and the cuff of his sandals up with white bandage wrap to prevent snag and adds an additional layer of protection and insulation. The pants worn are solid black baring no identifiable features much like the sleeveless black shirt her wears in conjunction with a white, single-trap flak jacket which, despite its odd appearance, gets the job done. At last he wears his Kumogakure forehead protector with the plate facing forward serving as ideal protection in combat as well as a valid identifier for his village.
History: Sanzo grew up with the most ordinary conditions possible. Being apart of one of the more established villages Sanzo had the luxury of opportunity, and what he did with that was join the military at a very young age. Like many of the young he was enthralled with the spoils of power, service, and legacy. It wasn't necessarily a bad choice on his end as Sanzo was rather talented during his growth in the academy. Although many concepts were new to him he was quick to learn and practice his teaching during school hours and on his own.
The end result was an Academy Student graduating on time which oddly had a low rate of success. Many Academy Students dropped out of the program when they realized the job of a ninja was rough and often had low survivability the longer you stayed in the program. Sanzo figured out quick that if he wanted to survive her needed something to put him above the rest. He invested into a variety of skills becoming vaguely familiar with some, but stuck with the basics.
It was during this time Sanzo fueled most of his focus into his ninja arts which caused his maturity. Nothing really encouraged a young man more than the fear of death, but being committed to his job and finding a thrill in the ninja life he knew he had to stick to the path he had chosen. Needless to say when the time was right Sanzo graduated the Chuunin Exams with a pretty high score and was now an official journeyman ninja. The exciting life of an active duty ninja awaited.
Personality: Sanzo finds himself constantly conflicted between two personalities, unsure whether he wants to be a heroic archetype or an aloof 'bad cop' while on duty. The aforementioned personalities are facades he often switches between. Deep down Sanzo could be described as 'green' as he doesn't even know what he wants and easily naive. Naturally he's easygoing and could be a bit of a pushover out of pure humbleness rather than submission, often finding confrontation (especially over trivial matters) a waste of time. Knowing these weren't the qualities of a ninja who wanted to get paid he found himself compromising by having a work persona, feeling it doubles as a means to protect his private life, though if only his colleagues knew who he really was.
The very few friends Sanzo has must tolerate his true side. Sanzo expresses a fairly blunt, abrasive personality followed by a habit of asking an array of random, obscure questions which can range from inappropriate to just an outright headscratcher. Sanzo even incorporates his fascination of the culinary arts in his day to day life, asking strangers and new friends their favorite food or drink at random times as he constantly strives to expand his culinary knowledge and build relations that way. Odd quirks aside, Sanzo returns a high tolerance for the friends he makes and is not often afraid to aid them in their own personal pursuits.
