Second Wind: By taking in a deep and controlled breath, and letting it out smoothly, she is able to revitalize her body to a degree, and give herself a small recovery to her Stamina. This restores 25% of Vala’s chakra reserves, but only may be used once per battle. If she uses her Second Wind, the effects of exhaustion are applied immediately and doubled. If she reaches the point she no longer would be affected by exhaustion (A in Stamina), she will only suffer normal exhaustion effects instead.
Appearance:
Tall and voluptuous, Vala stands at 6’1 and weighs in at 170 lbs. She has solid muscle but nothing unseemly. Proud of her curves, this dark haired beauty dresses to show them off and can oftentimes be seen wearing a backless and armless training outfit. Or a midriff showing top with an orange jacket. Her eyes are a shade of yellow gold and her hair is a deep purple. Upon her shoulder on her back she has the brand from when she spent time as a slave, the cruelly scorched and burned skin having long since healed to scar tissue still had the symbol plainly visible, and it always would.
History: Vala was the oldest of three siblings who lived in the Land of Demons prior to Kirigakure’s takeover of the country. She wasn’t born from a special clan, and worked to help take care of her family. Her early life years were hard given the terrain of the land of demons being either mountainous or filled with dense woodland. Her father taught her hand to hand combat as a means of staying fit and healthy and she proved to be a naturally gifted student of the art. This progressed until she could best him on any given day and he was exceedingly proud of her when she proved that she could. When her younger siblings were born she loved them instantly. Her little brother, and her beautiful little sister, twins and she was fiercely protective of them. She took care of them and worked to try to make their lives as a whole better.
When she was fifteen she fell in love and she was deliriously happy. They were her first love, although her parents, ever traditionalists, were not excited about the fact that she was a woman. The two dated for a long time, before the events that occurred a year later that changed her life. At that time Halcyon Yomi, and Ken Tetsudashi led an attack upon her home. Raping and murdering those in their way, and even those that weren’t. Vala was knocked out by one of the soldiers with them, who took it upon himself to show mercy. However her family, her entire family, were slaughtered like cattle. Even her lover, who was visiting in an attempt to bridge the difficulties her parents felt towards her, was butchered. Vala and a few others had to put people's bodies together like jigsaw puzzles. So that they could be positively identified.
When it was all said and done, her home was now a sovereign state of Kirigakure, and Vala was forced into slavery for a time. Eventually, they were freed, and they were allowed to return home. However Vala had different ideas about where she wanted to be. Instead of returning home, she instead enrolled into the Academy. Intent on gaining the strength to fight back against such crimes in the future. While in captivity she heard about Ken’s labelling as a war criminal, the price on his head. Heard about how he had never returned to Kirigakure after his crimes. It was for these reasons that Vala didn’t hold a grudge for Kirigakure itself. Her hatred burned solely for the ones who took everything from her. Her slave brand, a circle inside of a diamond that was branded into her shoulder, would be worn proudly, to show what she had survived in general because of monsters that she would surpass one day.
When she entered the academy she proved to be an avid student. Working hard to offset her late state in the shinobi world. Her abilities in taijutsu were far above the average and her skills in ninjutsu, particularly fire ninjutsu, left the instructors perplexed. She was incapable of using any other elements at the moment though, but there was no reason she couldn’t cultivate such talents later on the future. How now, her fire, and taijutsu would be enough to see her though. Upn the day of her graduation she stood proud before other students before moving on to missions, working like a dog to gain the strength needed to surpass such people as Ken Tetsudashi and prevent what happened to her home from happening anywhere else if she could.
Personality: Vala’s personality, despite her past, is confident, and has a tendency to be a bit carefree. She’s just as stubborn as she is confident and she has a kind a of unconscious grace about her that you see very rarely in the world. An almost lazy, sultry grace, almost cat like. She can be extremely flirty and coupling this with her confidence means it isn’t hard for her to want to play ball. Granted, she has to find someone attractive first.
Beyond that, she carries a savage determination, and when angered ceases to eliminate what it was that angered her to begin with. Getting her to that point is difficult though, with the one exception of anything having to do with Ken Tetsudashi. She has a certain amount of respect for the current Mizukage, Hana Kagura, who has done a great deal of work to turn Kirigakure’s past ways around.
Slowly, very slowly, Vala is building up the patriotism some might think is necessary in a shinobi of a village. However it’s slow going. Despite her feelings on the true criminal in the massacre of the Land of Demons. It’s hard to forget where those monsters came from. Hard to forgive the fact that an administration of the village she had joined, ordered the conquest of her home. She’s managed to bury her pent up aggression toward what happened to her old life, what happened to her family, her lover, deep inside of her. Does she hide from it? Yes, does it make her a coward? That depends on one’s perspective doesn’t it?
