For his first trick, he formed the Snake → Rabbit → Horse seals, then placed his left hand on one of the huge rocks for which the area was named and raised his right hand to aim his palm at the sky. Clouds darkened overhead, and a tiny lightning bolt struck his raised hand, flowed through him, and scorched the boulder. He couldn't really gauge what kind of damage he'd caused to such an impassive, inanimate object, but he decided he'd have to content himself with the knowledge that he successfully performed the jutsu.
Next, he moved on to the second jutsu on the Raiton: Intermediate Techniques scroll. He formed the Snake → Rabbit → Rat seals, then delivered an actual punch to the boulder next to the mark he'd made on it earlier. The chakra delivered into the stone cracked it and his fist almost reduced the immediate area of impact to a powder. It still hurt like a motherfucker.
