Description: Kumo's most elite squad needs elite equipment to match especially since they are going to be taking on a god soon and need every edge that they can get. The sooner the equipment is complete the better as it would take Ryuko far too long to get it all done by herself.

The time was nigh. After years of preparation Ryuko was finally ready to create the ultimate set of armor for herself and the best protective gear for her squad she could imagine. After speaking with Rafaela the other day after the incident at the training grounds she knew what was coming down the line if she wanted to prove herself worthy of obtaining the First Vestals full power.

For the longest time she had felt inferior for not having a bloodline or a special ability to call her own that would let her stand up to a sage like Honiko. Being chosen by her god to host Rafaela was the biggest honor she had ever received. The only problem now was the fact she was going to have to fight said god in battle and overcome him. Granted it was only an aspect of Hakkin she’d be facing and not the dragon in his full divine form but even so she was going to need every edge she could get her hands on if she wanted to come out on top.

She was allowed to bring up to three other people with her making for a full squad. This is where she was meant to choose wisely but she already had the ideal candidates in mind. Her squad the Thundercats were the most elite team in the entire nation. Sworn sisters bonded at their very souls. As long as blood flowed through their veins their friendship was immortal.

That meant she was going to be asking Natsuru and Shimiko to fight at her side. How could she not? With them together they could overcome practically anything, maybe even a god. That just left the matter of who the last squad member would be. She had lots of options. The image of Nozomi floated in her mind but she doubted she could get her squadmates to agree to that no matter how strong the missing ninja was since in their eyes she was still an enemy of the state.

The twins and Nariko were both jinchuuriki so depending on how much they had a handle on their own entities either one would make for an immensely powerful ally. Another potential choice was Niko, a fellow Jounin and blacksmith. She wasn’t quite as strong as the rest of the Thundercats, at least not yet but she wasn’t far behind either.

Even if Niko couldn’t help directly the priestess was counting on her assistance in order to gear up. Due to extenuating circumstances with what was going on in the world she was going to need to acquire this new power as soon as possible. But before she could begin to make her own armor she needed to polish up her own skills just a bit more first by furnishing some gear for the rest of the Thundercats both first and second generation.

Walking into the new crafting facility she had commissioned for the village she took a deep breath of that fresh building smell and grinned. The Thunder forge would go a long way towards cutting down the time required to get this monumental task accomplished.

“First up some knights' cuirass for the twins.” She muttered to herself as she went to work. She’d already had the materials she’d needed shipped here overnight and was raring to go. Being Jin the Twins could regenerate to an extent but she wasn’t sure what the limit to that was. The most practical choice then was armor that would protect their core making it harder to get a one shot lethal blow in since they would be able to survive just about anything else on their own.

The two knights' cuirass for the Twins was now complete, making Ryuko grin. Ideally she’d like to fully outfit them in head to toe in full body plate mail but she was pretty sure neither of them would go for that, it just wasn’t their style. She wished she could do more for them but this was neither the time nor place for such remonstations. Snapping her fingers she summoned one of her servants, Sister Washi into the room.

“See if the twins are still at the training field and deliver this to them if they are. If not, leave it in their room in the tower.” She instructed. There was still a chance they hadn’t left for another dimension yet after all so she might as well make the most of it.

“At once Mistress.” said Washi giving Ryuko a light bow as she picked up a complete cuirass one one hand each and hulled it out of the room. Now that her first task was out of the way it was time to begin the second which was making a new set of chainmail for her teammates.

To be honest Shimiko probably didn’t really need any since the armor Ryuko had last made for her was more than sufficient but even if she didn’t want one it wasn’t as if it would be going to waste. Ryuko was sure Nariko or Niko would happily put it to use in her place.

Well it was just chainmail after all, that was nothing she hadn’t made before, just at a higher level of quality and material then she’d used in the previous sets. Throwing some more ebony and titanium into the furnace to produce adamantite she went to work making small rings out of it and linking them together at dizzying speeds.

As expected it didn’t take Ryuko long to complete the two sets of chainmail. After all that was the type of armor that she’d made the most over the years which meant she was quite formulary with how the process worked at this point no matter what the material she happened to be working with.

For the next step before she was going to be able to make her own armor she needed to prepare the material. Making the adamantite was simple enough all one had to do was shove a unit of ebony and a unit of titanium into the crucible and let them melt together. She could then take some of the new liquid that resulted and either forge into a shape she wanted with her hammer while it was still hot or pour it into a mold when it was something predefined like thread.

In this case she was pouring some into a long narrow mold which would result turning it into a type of thread. Again pretty simple to do for an armorsmith of her caliber but what came next would be anything but simple. She would take the thread of adamantite and weave it tightly together with a thread of silk to produce her patented one of a kind Adamantite-Woven Silk.

This would allow her to have a softer material to eventually make her undersuit from so that it would maintain maximum flexibility without having to sacrifice durability in the process. If the new material had been a result of mixing chemicals together she’d be shit out of luck but in this case it was just weaving two different types of thread together and weaving was something an armorsmith was very very good at. They had to be to make stuff like Gambelsons and Mantels,

But even with the top of the line facility she was working with this was going to be a tedious process. Hopefully the end results would be worth it in the end.

Crafting a bulk batch of Adamantite-Woven Silk (8 Units worth). This counts as 1 S-rank item and will be complete by Thur May 28th

After what felt like an excruciatingly long time Ryuko had completed enough of her Adamantite-Woven Silk thread that she’d need to make her full armor set with a little to spare for a special side project. Considering that one unit wasn’t a lot she didn’t even have enough to constitute an entire bolt of fabric.

Considering she had been making it in bulk she likely could have scaled up production a bit more and ended up with some extra she could have set aside for later. That was a tempting idea but the material was expensive enough that for the moment she only wanted to produce the minimum for her needs.

Gabbing a sewing kit she went to work taking the tread she had just made and using it to knit together what she was calling her angelic set. Consisting of a bodysuit, gloves and stockings meant to be worn under her metallic armor both for comfort and acting as an additional layer of protection.

In addition she was also making a cloth base to be worn around the hips and over the Faulds. While it too would act as an extra layer of protection she was adding it as more of a fashion statement and to protect her modesty so that it would be much harder for someone to peek up her skirt while she was flying.

She had spent so much time constructing the threads it seemed a shame so was expanding them so quickly she had to remind herself that it would be more than worth it in the end. Just this under armour set she was making alone would be a vast upgrade on her current gear even without the ArchAngel gear that was meant to be worn over it.

After who knew how long she had spent weaving Ryuko was finished.   It had been so intensive that she’d lost track of time.   At this point she was so sick of seeing sewing machines that she was ready to take a long break from them but sadly even with this done her work was only half finished.   Her inner layer of armor might be complete but she still had the outer harder layer to forge.

With a sigh Ryuko gathered up the complete Angelic set and went into a nearby changeroom to switch outfits.   Looking at herself in the mirror when she only had the body suit, cloves and stockings on it was as snug and comfortable as she’d expected but by itself it was quite immodest since it showed off her every curve quite nicely.  

It looked like she’d still need at least some of her old armor for a little while longer as she slid the chainmail and gambeson back on before returning to the crafting chambers.  By now she was hoping that someone would have shown up to help her since she’d put up a request and made it an official mission and all so far she was alone as ever.

“I’ve heard the expression do it yourself but this is ridiculous” she muttered to herself.  Still she couldn’t let this discourage her so she went to work on the next phase  using some tongs to pull out super heated metal from the crucible and then hammering on it to give it shape.    This is where some people might use the automated hammer to speed things along but Ryuko’s speed and precision with her hand was so fast and smooth it rivaled that of the machine.
